Fairmont Tamarack

Fairmont Hotels

Donnelly, Idaho

Viewed from a distance, the Hotel stands proudly as the iconic structure of the newly master planned development at Tamarack Resort, and will quite possibly become the new winter flagship for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. At the entry court, the sense of presence is even more powerful. The substantial stone walls and supporting timbers ground the building to the site and bring a human scale to pedestrian areas. Details reveal a design that finds its roots in Craftsmen and Shingle Style architecture common to the Pacific Northwest. Glass, Steel and Timber balconies provide hotel guests and homeowners the desired privacy but also a magnificent opportunity for connection to the natural environment. This opportunity is echoed in the numerous semi-public and public outdoor dining and recreation spaces available throughout the project. An enclosed bridge connects the 2 buildings of Fairmont Tamarack and spans the pedestrian village, complete with shops, restaurants and amenities, below. The exterior building materials have been sensitively chosen to evoke a timeless quality and a natural connection to the site.
