Vail River House

Tucked into the ski slopes of Bachelor Gulch with views of the Gore Range, this home integrates indoor and outdoor living, just as the owners wished. The J+A design team delineated a grand native rock terrace surrounding 180 degrees of the home’s living area. The form is reiterated in a delightful rooftop terrace off of a floating loft.

The home’s transparency and natural ventilation were additional client program requests. J+A’s design finely balances stone, shingle and timber, distinguished with unique canted forms.
